There are 2 types of knowledge, THEORETICAL knowledge and APPLIED knowledge.
–
Both are equally important but you can not teach if you only know one without the other
–
If you speak only from experience, you see only the variables you choose to focus on subconsciously and therefore do not have a deep understanding
–
And if you speak only from textbooks and fact, then you do not know how the real world works, how things can change and how you must adapt and overcome problems you didn’t even knew existed, and therefore you do not have a deep understanding
–
And in order to teach you must have a true understanding of your subject
–
This is why everybody in the 21st century is an ‘expert’ on social media, there is always somebody who pipes up and thinks they know better, simply regurgitating information they read on google
–
When it comes to strength and conditioning training (A whole range of ‘fitness’ but gym instructing and body recomposition specifically) I have both the theoretical AND the applied
–
I joke around and troll a lot for fun, but I studied sport and exercise science at college AND THEN spent the next 10 years expanding on my knowledge and putting it in to practise on myself and on my clients
–
This is why so much information is either WRONG or not tailored specifically for there target audience. (And that’s ignoring the con artists which is a whole other topic)
–
I teach because I have a TRUE understanding
